Announcement of the Central Commission of the Republic of Belarus on the results of the national referendum held on February 27, 2022

 

On March 3, 2022 the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Belarus established the results of the national referendum based on the protocols of the referendum commissions from the city of Minsk and regional cities.

6,815,635 citizens were listed as eligible citizens of the Republic of Belarus to participate in the referendum.

The number of citizens who received voting ballots was 5,363,628.

A total of 5,359,403 citizens, or 78.63 percent of the eligible voters took part in the referendum.

The following question was submitted to the national referendum: “Do you accept the amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus?”

A total of 4,440,830 citizens, or 82.86% of the citizens who took part in the referendum, voted in favor of the question submitted to the referendum.

684,946 referendum participants, or 12.78 percent of the citizens, voted against adopting the amendments and additions to the Constitution.

The number of ballots recognized as invalid was 233 627, or 4.36 percent.

In the total number of citizens included in the voters lists, 65.16 percent of citizens, i.e. the majority of citizens on the voting lists, voted in favor of the question submitted to the referendum.
